You've probably seen and heard of hot chocolate bombs, so I decided to try this for myself -- and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! Not only do they look amazing, but they taste great and are easy to make!
Here's What You Need:
Step 1
Put your melting chocolate into a bowl and microwave until the chocolate is completely melted. To avoid burning the chocolate, melt it in 30 second intervals.
Step 2
Scoop about 2 spoonfuls of melted chocolate into your mold. Then take your pastry brush to spread the chocolate all around the mold. If your bowl of chocolate begins to harden as you go, you can microwave it again for about 15 seconds.
Step 3
Stick your mold into the freezer for 5-10 minutes.
Step 4
Take some more melted chocolate and fill in any weak spots you might see that need another layer. Then take some chocolate and add another layer around the rim of your shells to ensure they are strong.
Step 5
Stick your mold back into the freezer for 5-10 minutes.
Step 6
Pop your chocolate out of your mold and the fill them with hot chocolate mix and mini marshmallows.
Step 7
Heat a frying pan over very low heat, and take the top shell of your mold and warm it up on the pan, and then place on your other half. You might have some gaps, so I just took my finger, dipped it in melted chocolate and smoothed chocolate around the edges to fill in all gaps. (You don't need to put these back in the freezer, the chocolate will harden).
If you want to decorate them, you can add more melted chocolate to the top of your hot chocolate bomb and then add some sprinkles on top!
And that's it! Just pop them into your favourite mug, add some hot milk, and watch the hot chocolate bomb open before your eyes! All you have to do is stir and enjoy.
